Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. Half English and half Spanish She is the child of Dennis Alan Taylor a former banker as well as Jennifer Marina Joy a psychologist. The father of her mother, who is Argentinean of Scottish as well as English descent is also her mother. Her mother is of Spanish origin. Taylor-Joy is the youngest of five children from her father's prior marriage. The family was based in Buenos Aires until she was six then relocated to the Victoria region of London. Taylor-Joy said moving was traumatic and that she was unable to go back to school in English because she hoped to be able to return to Argentina. She was forced to transfer schools to Northlands in order to attend Hill House. Then she attended Queen's Gate School where she studied ballet and acted in school plays. At 16, she left the school to take on acting as a profession. As a child, Taylor-Joy was aware of her desire to be an actor and her dreams came true when she was approached for an opportunity to model by Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
