Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's father, was first seen on stage as Flora McGrath. For this role, she won an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for The romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second-youngest winner in Oscar History. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian born New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won her the Academy Award for best support actress. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of the muffled Scottish pianist, who in the late 19th century relocates to New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an open audition call at the age of nine. She was old and had almost no previous acting experience. The actress moved to the United States as a teen. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. Also, she was a leading role in Fly Away Home, a film from the same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 film Amistad. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) and A Walk on the Moon (2000). She portrayed groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
